Moon Plaque Lesson Plan

Use technology tools (e.g., publishing, multimedia tools,
and word processing software) for individual and for simple
collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities

Procedures:
- The teacher will review with the students in a whole group
the Apollo 11 moon landing, with Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin,
and Michael Collins.
- For a better view of the plaque show students the website
with the original moon plaque left by Apollo 11 astronauts:

- Discuss the saying left by the astronauts.
- Have students use the planning
sheet to plan and make a rough drawing of a plaque they
would leave if they visited the moon.
- Have students create their plaque in
KidPix.
- Create a slide show with students' plaque for the moon
party or print them and display around the class.
- Assess student work with a rubric. (See
our sample)
